6 Degrees is looking for an Operations Manager

Location: Sauraha, Chitwan

For our Soap Studio, we are currently looking for an Operations Manager to run the daily operations. The Soap Studio is in its start-up phase and there are currently five women working producing soap.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with 6 Degrees to develop operational plans aligned with the company’s goals and objectives;

  • Lead the soap team and ensure smooth execution of soap production while guaranteeing quality, quantity, and cost efficiency;

  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets while maximising productivity and minimising waste;

  • Provide guidance to the production team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork;

  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors and support contract negotiations, monitor performance, and resolve issues effectively;

  • Coordinate work activities and planning with a view to efficiency;

  • Oversee inventory levels, procurement activities, and logistics activities to ensure timely

    delivery of soap and optimal inventory management;

  • Liaise and consult with soap consultant to maintain quality assurance processes and

    standards to ensure products meet quality requirements and customer expectations;

  • Ensure equipment and facility are maintained properly;

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards to maintain a safe and

    healthy work environment for production team and visitors;

  • Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-savings

    opportunities to optimise financial performance.

  • Solving all kinds of issues that may arise in production and elsewhere (troubleshooting);

Qualifications and Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field or college degree with 3-5 years working experience;

  • An entrepreneurial and learning mindset;

  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel;

  • Ability to develop and document simple work processes;

  • Ability to manage and maintain budgets and develop reports;

  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire women to achieve

    goals;

  • Cultural sensitivity;

  • Good command of English, both written and spoken;

  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Proven experience in operations management or a related role is a plus;

  • Marketing skills are a plus.
