6° Academy for Women is a non-profit foundation aiming to provide women with opportunities for a better life beyond the one dictated by societal traditions and expectations
PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS TRAINING PROJECT IS UNDERWAY
6° Academy has partnered with New Sadle to kick start their pilot women drivers training project. As part of the pilot, 10 women will learn how to drive so that they can get their license and find jobs as chauffeurs. Candidates have been identified and training commenced in March 2018.
THE FIRST FAMILY DAY RAISED EURO 7,955
Our first 6° Family Day public fundraiser on 1 September was a resounding success. Over 200 guests made up of family, friends, walk-ins, and our highly motivated volunteer team, came together on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at strandpaviljoen De Kwartel to support us and create an unforgettable day.
We raised a total of Euro 7,955 (including online donations) enabling us to sponsor at least 13 women for the wildlife guide training in Chitwan, Nepal.
The 6° team would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who came by to participate in the day and contribute to its success, and to those who donated online via our website.
We still need your support to sponsor an additional Euro 1,045 so that we can give this opportunity to 2 more women whose lives you could change through this program.
WILDLIFE GUIDE TRAINING: UPDATE
After the successful launch of the pilot drivers training project, our second project in the Chitwan region, Nepal has been kicked off.
This project targets to provide vocational training to 15 disadvantaged and marginalised women to train as wildlife guides.
